I can't stand forgetting you
Before this world would end-
I had a dream, a fleeting thought,
That I held your hand again.
I'm terrified of living
But too lonely here to die-
Hopeful, selfish, as always,
That you'll come and save my life.
Too many years ago for me to count
I used to think that love was real-
That love could last forever,
That we weren't too dead to feel.
I burnt all my love letters,
And spread the ashes in the sea-
Screamed the sweet love songs,
Till they were meaningless to me.
I am alone and so afraid
A monster scared of my reflection-
I'll kill them if they get to close,
Anything for my protection.
Something made you different
I let you close enough to hurt me-
It's a shame I didn't, still won't, know,
Who you'd turn out to be.
I burnt all my love letters,
But I wrote them anew-
And I sang my sweet love songs,
But they were meaningless to you.
Before this world would end-
I had a dream, a fleeting thought,
That I held your hand again.
I'm terrified of living
But too lonely here to die-
Hopeful, selfish, as always,
That you'll come and save my life.
Too many years ago for me to count
I used to think that love was real-
That love could last forever,
That we weren't too dead to feel.
I burnt all my love letters,
And spread the ashes in the sea-
Screamed the sweet love songs,
Till they were meaningless to me.
I am alone and so afraid
A monster scared of my reflection-
I'll kill them if they get to close,
Anything for my protection.

It's a shame I didn't, still won't, know,

But I wrote them anew-
And I sang my sweet love songs,
But they were meaningless to you.
